Here's an idea, why don't corporations and big companies sponsor a school and help out a little with the current funding crisis? The needs of children in our schools have grown exponentially since the pandemic and it is impossible for headteachers to meet the challenge with the state of school funding as it is. Local authorities are stretched to the limit with the services they can offer and cuts are having to be made to staff and resources for the most needy and vulnerable in our society. It's no surprise there is a recruitment crisis in education as teachers and support staff are bending over backwards and breaking in half with poor mental health due to the pressures of the job. Why don't companies reach out to their local schools and offer a regular donation or sponsorship for a child or to fund a project? I assure you the money would be well spent and our school staff would feel like society is pulling together to keep our children on track for a better future.
